...Robert Randolph, Drive-By Truckers and the Black Crowes together?
on my birthday?
in Camden, NJ?

biggest plus: I wouldn't have to drive and would most definitely "monger" as you people would put it.

biggest minus: I hate that venue with several man-sized passions and something tells me that crowd would be dubious at best.

Robert Randolph is supposed to be insane live.
Black Crowes were okay.
Haven't seen or heard the live rep for DBT.

But from what I've heard, RR should be worth the price of admission alone.

Billy G had good things to say about DBT live. Obviously the GA guys like em. That's all I recall people saying about the live show.

I've seen both RR and the Black Crowes live before. Both have put on great shows and meh shows.

July 31.

I think a lot of this would depend on my mood that day. Sadly, if I was still allowed to smoke pot it would likely be a shoo-in.

DBT's put on the most amazing live show. You shouldn't miss em.

They blew me away last summer.

I've seen the Crowes live about 6 years ago and have to admit it was an enjoyable show.

i'm not into them... but i say yes from the people i've heard talk about a DBT live show.

plus, you don't have to drive (it's your birthday and you shouldn't have to drive anyway).

sometimes you just have to deal with a shitty venue to see bands you like.

This is true. They're probably the best around right now. That said, I see your dilemma cause I certainly wouldn't go to camden to see either of the others and if dbts are #2 or 3 on that bill how much are they really gonna get to play.

Sounds like a game time decision to me. If you skip it though, definitely catch the dbts at some point.

This show might even get ME outta the house. I'll be in Orange Beach, AL that w/e, though ;)

well either way I'm gonna assume it's not selling out. Now I gotta round up enough people to make it worthwhile to go. I think this is the sort of show that would be worthless without 10+ people in tow.

I'm actually trying to set up a late summer NYC visit, so it's possible. There was some art show that the lady wanted to see, so we might be up there sooner, but only for the day. which means no drinking for me. boo.
