So, I get on the elevator at work this morning, and this women (about 35) follows me in blasting her ipod into her oversized head. Now, considering the small size of the elevator, me and the other guy can hear the music emitting from her headphones.

She then proceeds to 'SCREAM' "Can you hit 7 please?"!

Did she think the music was as loud in the elevator as it was in her ears? When i was 7 and I got my first 'walkmen', i did the same thing, and my dad clearly explained to me that just because the music is loud in my ears, it was because of the headphones, and everyone around me could barely hear a thing....I caught on to that pretty quick....

Me and the other guy just glanced at eachother and smirked. Who still thinks like this?

I would've yelled back....'WHAT?"

Was her name Elaine Benes?

My daughter still yells "what" and then has to say stuff like "I can't hear you, the music is loud." And I say no it isn't your brain is just quiet.

what are you guys talking about? There are still people that shout on cell phones in public. This isn't news.

I'm sure I could get into a rambling discussion on poor design and lack of audio relay/feedback on cell phones, but I won't.

Seriously though, I've got a friend who would ignore people like this, and when they persisted on getting his attention, he'd motion like he was doing sign language and couldn't hear them.

little bit different..people can yell on pohnes sometimes if it is noisy, or they have trouble hearing...

we were in a quiet elevator..the only loudness was in her earphones....
