"WTVD, citing a police report, said that Redick was arrested at 1:03 a.m. in Durham, N.C., after the former Duke star made an illegal U-turn to avoid a police checkpoint."

Why couldn't this had happened prior to the Collegiate Basketball season? Then I wouldn't have had to hear Dick Vitale and everyone else talk about how great he was and the Dookies would have tanked.

i'm pretty sure that avoiding police checkpoints is completely legal, as long as you observe the rules of the road while doing so.

But he didn't obey the laws, and did it right in front of the cops.
It wouldn't surprise me if he made a 3-point turn while squealing his tires.
