Which is better? Maybe if you guys praise the Colbert Report enough you'll convince me to actually get around to watching it one of these days.

I still think the Daily Show is better but Colbert Report is really good.

I couldn't imagine myself skipping either one of them every night, but I think The Colbert Report is more fun to watch overall.

staring at a roach covered wall in some ramshackle crack den is more interesting than both.

honestly it has nothing to do with that. it's just not interesting, and their attempt's at comedy are just painful.

Yup. I've noticed a real drop recently in Colbert's "The Word" segment. It just ain't funny. He makes up for it most nights though.

Daily Show is more consistent, more variety. And there is something ultimately limiting about Colbert who is always "playing a character" to Daily who is just very smart and very funny. Colbert is like a sitcom, not a satirical news program. Of course, the best sitcom on TV.

Daily Show is better. Colbert is great and probably more consistently funny than Jon Stewart, but sometimes I get sick of how shtick-y the Colbert Report is. Plus, when the Daily Show is at it's best, nothing beats it.

Anybody see that Jason Jones report a couple of days ago about that Democratic candidate in Ohio? It's called Donkey Showdown on Comedy Central's Motherload thing, but I can't figure out how to link to it. It is priceless.

colbert by a mile. stewart, though endearing, has never been very funny.

I'll take Countdown with Keith Olberman over both of them.

the daily show is much better in my opinion. the colbert thing is funny, but more in a ha ha chuckle kind of way...daily show makes me laugh out loud a couple of times per episode.

I watched Colbert a few times, and I can live without it. It's just not good.

I love both but I see parallels in this to a Letterman vs. Conan argument.

Colbert Report seems to have settled into a rut already where pretty much every night is the same, just tweaked slightly.

Watch two weeks of Colbert or Conan and you'll have every mannerism down pat and be able to say what they're going to say before they say it.

I prefer Colbert over Stewart as a host, but The Daily Show offers more variety and bigger laughs (usually due to the non-Stewart bits). Therefore, The Daily Show wins for me.

Stewart, absolutely. Colbert is clever, but the format is limited. Olbermann has more cajones, but is also more self-righteous. I respect Olbermann, think Colbert himself is very funny, but am more consistently entertained by the stealthiness of Stewart's friendly demeanor. It masks a very smart man who's very angry about very specific things.
