The Sansa is probably the best flash mp3 player on the market today. Good choice.

With that ringing endorsement, i'd run the other way.

Don't worry, Phil - I did my homework on this one before taking the plunge. Reviews for this typically range from very good to excellent, and the price was right. Oh, and I'm checking out prices for Studio Kans right now (after first thinking about getting them months ago). :rockbanana:

I actually use the FM recorder on my older MP3 player at least 5 days a week to catch talk shows that I don't get a chance to listen to during the day.

The video function will probably only be used to watch a 1/2 hour show coming to or from work.

Hey Mike, when you get the Sansa, make sure you download the latest firmware update for it right away. The update corrects a serious playlist bug that was somehow ignored by the testers at SanDisk before the player was officially released.

I did this about 12 seconds before checking your post. Thanks, though - there are tons of people out there (not necessarily tons on this board) who don't even know what firmware updates are, so it's always good to spread the word.

Where did you get it for so cheap? That's more like the price I've seen for the 1gb version.

I got it from Office Depot, but there was some work involved. I had the service rep on the phone price match with Circuit City's lower price, added a "$30 off $150" online coupon and tracked down $50 in rebates.
