boredoms/lightning bolt at webster july 2nd - anyone else going?
other shows of interest this summer in ny?

silver mt zion at bowery or northsix looks good, saw them last summer at southpaw & it was AMAZING

friday night had the distinct pleasure of biking up to e 105th from 18th st/park ave south for a rooftop bbq, which was awesome, and then biking home to brooklyn afterwards [well, skipped out early b/c i knew it would be dangerous to stay & get REALLY fucked up & then ride home]
i have to say, there's really nothing quite like hopping on yr man-powered 2 wheeler and cruising through nyc at night, especially when yr ride is going to take you straight down museum mile. there are almost always at least 2 people on the steps of the met after-hours, making out.
and riding the bridges at night is such a joy b/c the skyline is at eye level and there's something much cooler about it when you dont have to crane yr neck to see everything.
anyhow.

on another note, what the fuck is wrong with the mavs? seriously, the stackhouse suspension was bullshit, but regardless, howard and terry were apparently stepping up and still they lose?
jesus.

i love that abc is showing world cup matches, for us non-cable having folks. at least we get a couple of table scraps, if nothing else. poor france, they shouldve protested that 'save'.

ok, that's my random post of all the dumb crap that's on my mind.

biking story: for my hill-training this weekend, did Cornell/Thompson from my house (around 24 miles roundtrip), and got suckered into doing Council Crest too. My ride was only 3 more miles, but riding up to Council Crest was like ascending 1000 feet in those 3 miles. I stuck with it though... never stopped, never got off my bike and "walking the bike" is not in my vocabulary.

for reference, this is the elevation from downtown up to Thompson/Skyline area.

Well, they didnt put a bigger guy on wade (howard?) and let him torch harris for like 6 straight jumpers at the foul line. That hurt. Also, Wade shot as many free throws as the entire mavericks team, i saw at least three cases where harris should have gotten fouled at the other end.

josh howard picks the wrong time of the game to commit the two most costly mistakes in recent playoff memory (missing 2 free throws after going 9-9, and the phantom TO).

bennett salvatore overlooks the backcourt violation and shove from wade on the last play (understandable, you hate to end a finals game like that) but then whistles the wrong guy for a foul from 50 feet away. point of fact, he was the wrong official to blow that whistle, regardless of whether nowitzki fouled wade (he didnt) or harris did (he did).

but, they had the game in hand, left j. williams and gp wide open for threes and couldnt stop dwyane wade. the refs helped but they just didnt get it done.
