Just listened to this for the first time in ages...

so so so good.

I know there are a lot of Fat Wreck Chords fans on this board.

Groovie Ghoulies, Dwarves, No Use For A Name, Mad Caddies, 88 Fingers Louie....what happened to all the good punk bands?

Oh yeah...blink182.

I have this.

Nerf Herder's song is funny.

The Descendants & NOFX songs are awesome.

sheesh people! gauche i've got nothing against those bands you listed but aside from the ghoulies those bands were far from the highlights on that disc.

Also, the guy from Nerf Herder put out a cd of jingles. pretty much 30 second songs for made up products. pretty neat.

And while "See Her Pee" is "funny" by NOFX "standards" any one of the songs on their Fuck The Kids 7" is a better tune.

Good punk bands that are around now are -
The Ergs!
The Copyrights
Whole Wheat Bread
Nancy

Yeah, good stuff. While I like the "classic" songs on that disc the best, because I was already familiar with them, I really liked the Samiam tune, and that Bigwig tune I really enjoy. Having said that, most of the CD is pretty enjoyable.

man - all of those fat bands have went downhill.......ie the new good riddance is such a pile it aint funny......

not sure its even considered punk rock - but the only band that i can get into nowadays seems to be rise against.

other then that i stick with the classics plus punk rock released from 93-98 (ie nofx, strung out, bigwig, good riddance, 88 fingers louie, pegboy, etc)

I just listed who I thought of off the top of my head there...

I like lots of songs on that album...the Down By Law, the Dickies, Citizen Fish.

Just because I'm endorsing a 30 second song by them on this disc doesn't mean I'm endorsing their work overall. A lot of those bands are shitty but they happened to write a great song for Fat Mike that one time. The Dance Hall Crashers one is great.

Oh... I knew of one when I was there. My friend's freind was DJing there. It was up near the Moulin Rouge. I'll try to get the name of it if you want.

yeah gauche as i said i've got nothing agaisnt those bands listed (i've got a most of those band's cds) i was just brashly stating my opinion on the better songs to be found on the disc. even if that comp batted like a decent major leaguer there's still 30 good songs to found.

for the record, my top 10 fav fat wreck releases are:

lagwagon - hoss
hi-standard - growing up
nofx - fuck the kids 7"
face to face - don't turn away
propagandhi - less talk, more rock
fat music for fat people # 1
snuff - long ball to no one 7"
joey cape and tony sly - acoustic
no use for a name - leche con carne
me first and the gimme gimmes - have a ball

timis - that good riddance album is like, 11th. my favorite Strung Out song (and one of my fav Good Riddance songs) is on that first FWC comp so that takes care of that. Punk In Drublic was on Epitaph.

yay! 90s punk!

yeah. i know a guy who swears by that disc. he also claims that Diesel Boy is the band in the "punk" episode of Freaks And Geeks, but I thought it was Millencolin...
