I've only heard a few songs off an older album, but I liked them enough to remember the name.

mostly Female vocals, some synth stuff, big guitars. 80s sound without being obnoxiously rooted there.

I think "Spider Eyes" made it on to a mix of mine at some point.

of course I have no idea what the new one might sound like it could be an entirely new sound...

Yeah, I was happy to see the positive review today. DoP's been working at this for a while now...and their drummer's a swell chap (was a regular PFMS/EP poster).

I saw them open for Arcade Fire a while back in NYC. They were good. Reminded me of a more poppy Sonic Youth. I have a tour only EP they put out which I liked, but never kept in rotation. I'll probably check out the new one based on that.

these folks hang out in my neighborhood, and though i've not met them my friends vouch that they are swell. however, they did go and kick their singer out of the band shortly after they finished their record, which makes me wonder what they will sound like going forward...

they're not that bad, but they're just not very interesting. there are 3 really solid tracks on the album.
