(<-- still unsure which board to post on...)

The new Nick Cave album(s) rock.

I have heard this album (both discs) aproximately 3 times now
and am loving them more & more each time.

The first disc presents an intense & brooding Mr. Cave, shouting up at the heavens with his classic impecable moan, gospel choir in tow. While the second one lapses into the most beautiful string of love songs and even--gasp--a happy song or two.

It's wicked and wonderful. Any options from you peoples? Talk amongst yourselves...

It's a great suprise to me that a guy who was a favorite twenty years ago would produce a double album that I'd love so much this far into his career. I've haven't disliked any of Cave's recent albums, but it's been years since any of them excited me.

Gonna be in my Top 10 for the year.

Have to agree on the new Nick Cave... both of the cds are great. Definitely a top 10 release for me.

Hm, this is odd. I listened to them both on the bus (where I get most of my best listening)...and I thought they were boring.

The Boatman's Call is NOT boring.

I'd like to hear this. If I was up on Waste, I'd request it.

That Nick Cave....he is a bad seed!

Tried to get into him during the 'Murder Ballad' hype days, but it never clicked...

would there be a better place to start with him?

I'd like to know where a good place to start would be myself. I've been meaning to check out Nick Cave for a while. Would the new album be okay, or should I get one of his earlier albums first?

love these records. on the whole i prefer the second disc, but both are awesome.

as for starting off, i usually say "let love in" is the best starter record because, being his "alternative nation" breakthrough, it has a lot to appeal to the indie crowd. in my opinion. it was my starter record on him, anyway.
