How dare you have lives.

I spent the evening reading a book about R.E.M. and watching a musical starring Steve Martin.

Productive I ain't.

The only time I ever make mixes is when I'm completely shit-faced. It's the only way to do it.

A hair better than spending the evening reading a book about Steve Martin and watching a musical starring R.E.M.

I had a dream last night I was playing drums at a gig with an INXS cover band. Talk about needing a life.

I drank last night. Possibly a lot.

I got leered at, happened to run into a cousin I hadn't seen in four years and saw a guy I had a crush on through the entirety of middle school (and beginning of high school) for the first time since graduating and finally got home at 4.30.

i went to philadelphia for the boredoms concert yesterday.

and now my manager might fire me for calling out today even though i put in a request off three weeks prior to the concert date (for today since i'd be tired) and she denied it, and we spoke about it, and even though i'd be arriving home at essentially the same time as my shift time, she still expected me in.

For your sake, I hope it was Pennies from Heaven and not Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

One of the three best shows I've seen. Maybe best. There's no band you'll ever see that's remotely like them.

i completely agree. it was incredible. when i was there i was thinking that could very well have been the greatest concert i've ever been to.
i could tell from the moment it started. before they came on it was humid and hot and everyone was sweating, there wasn't a/c, just some shitty fans that were so high to the ceiling that they didn't affect the crowd at all. i couldn't breathe, and i was taking heavy breaths and i almost passed out a few times, but i kept catching myself before i'd fall backwards. it was miserable. but when they went on i think everyone pretty much forgot about how miserable it was.
it was amazing. completely worth the 250 mile trip.

went out for lunch, its real hot today, and i am hungover. now back at home chilling out for awhile.

the neko case show last night was amazing. the songs of Fox Confessor are about 5x better than the earlier stuff. She sold me on that album live...the songs are much more dynamic and interesting and it really comes out live.

I'm tiiiiiiiired. Just a little, though.

I worked with the boss hovering all day. In my never-ending quest to see how many different ways I can garner a disapproving look from him (not because I dislike him, but because I can) I told him I was doing "nothing" when he asked what I was up to.

It worked.

It was. I thought my long-standing Beatles hatred was well documented but I guess it's not as pronounced as it seems.

Tomorrow as well. I don't mind.

Today this woman came in and started telling me how the rolling pin we have in the store would be an excellent "trout clubber" and proceeded to tell me about bashing trout on the head after taking them out of the well. Or something, she was so odd, I was just trying to respond in the correct way.

you should not have to hit a trout on the head to kill it. you have to carry a stick when fishing for something big in order to prevent it from flopping around and breaking your leg...but trout? i have gone fishing for halibut that were large enough we took a pistol, though.

See, not that I know too much about fishing, but that's what I was thinking the entire time. That that's just not needed for trout. She was going on and on about all sorts of odd things and wandering my store for nearly an hour though, so I let it go.

I stayed up until 5:30 AM playing in a 2000 person freeroll poker tournament this morning and came in second. For my efforts I will receive a delectable polo shirt from the website.

This afternoon I coached my son's team to a second place finish in our state's All-star baseball tournament. We don't advance, but my son did very, very well.

Now, I'm on that hops.

color me jealous. The closest she came to Nashville was Memphis, and I was in Asheville when she was in Memphis, follow me? I read in an interview that she won't play in Nashville again because the people who go to live shows are jaded. She's pretty much right, but if she came to Nashville, I'd be in the front row...drooling.

np: Some shit Metal on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball. Why does it all sound the same now?
