So I've got a bottle of Brown Ale in my belly, and tonight I bottled 2 cases of an IPA (strong, somewhere between 7 and 9 % by volume) and drank the dregs of that, and now I am finishing brewing a batch of oatmeal coffee stout. drunk and brewing in the middle of the night . . . i would have done well during prhibition.

that is all.

yeah, this batch of wort brewed up very dark and bitter, I can't wait to see what it tastes like after it ferments.

Next on the list will be some sort of springtime beer - maybe a blueberry ale?

When you guys are around for SXSW I'll show you the moonshine set-up in my laundry room - much better than most of the "kits" out there, like those mr. beer kits you can buy at Target. ick.

Anyone know a good site for homebrewing info? I'd like to try this out, but don't know anything about it.

Hey Max, there are good websites (well, they usually look like hell, but have good information from honest beer nerds), but I would suggest that you start out with the bible: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, by Charlie Papazian. Easy, funny, and you can get it for like a dollar on half.com.

I'll try to maybe find a web resource for you, too. But if you want help, just drop me a PM and I'll tell you more about it. It's fun.

Still a n00b to brewing, I've only accomplished

1) a good English Mild Brown Ale

2) a strong, red, hoppy, and alcoholic IPA

3) an Oatmeal Coffee Stout

4) next, a Raspberry-Lemon Ale

and soon, some mead and wine, too. I am enjoying this whole DYI alcohol thing . . .
