yes. i wouldn't consider it really a chick flick. it's just plain funny. meryl streep is excellent. there's a lot of "woah, i can't believe she/he said that" type of laughter you'll get from this movie.

i like watching ann hathaway turn from a caterpillar into a butterfuly.
which she seems to do in every movie.

My girl read the book and thought it was pretty good. She really wants to check out the film as well.
