So, apparently Richard Branson (of Virgin Music fame) has teamed up with the guy who directed Elizabeth to start a new comic book company called Virgin Comics. They are focusing on the market in India and will be mostly based on Indian mythology. Anyway, the list of names attached to this is just bizarre. One of the comics is going to be written by John Woo and Garth Ennis (I'm predicting at least 5 people get shot in the head in the first page alone). And Deepak Chopra is somehow involved in the company too.

So for those of you keeping track at home, the director of Hard Boiled, Deepak Chopra, the crazy hot air balloon guy, and somebody who almost won an Oscar are making comic books for Indians. It's a weird world.

I read the first issue of Devi (the first comic they put out). It was so so.

Aren't there enough jokes about comic book fans being virgins?

That's like coming out with Luke & Leia candy. Hey kids! Star Wars Nerds!

Can Indians even afford comic books?
