It's the best. I'm going to eat $10 of wild blueberries and raspberries today.

Barry Season's first disc is his best. It has a cover of a Seeds song.

Raspberries, Stawberries... the fields of the Pajaro Valley where the Pajaro and Salinas rivers gently flow into the Monterey Bay, are filled with thousands and thousands of farmworkers, in the relentless summer sun for 9-10 hours a day, six or seven days a week, bending, reaching, picking these gifts of the earth they put these fruits before us.

From their hands, their toil, I take these gifts in gratitude.

Well, I mean, you gotta pay for them.

I bought fresh cherries the other day. They are magnificent.

The farmers market which is across the street from my house always has the best hookup.

Harry- a local (very small) winery takes weekend volunteers in exchange for some free reserve bottles. I spent one weekend of my life picking grapes all day in the hot sun of Eastern Washington all day on Saturday and Sunday and that experience gave me total perspective on the work those people do in the fields. My white boy desk jockey ass was beat down- I encourage anyone to get out there and try it. I physically couldn't go more than two days and these people do it for months at a time.

We live in blueberry country now, and our house is about 50 feet from a blueberry field. I'm not the biggest fan of fruit but fresh blueberries are a real treat.

How can anyone not be a fan of fruit?

Fruit's alright, but there's this thing called candy that calls my name, whereas fruit usually doesn't. But as far as natural foods go, it definitely has vegetables beat.

is there a pretty way to eat cherries? i love them, but always find myself feeling like white trash when spitting out the seeds. i've tried discreetly catching them with a napkin, but that's a lot of work.

blueberries are awesome, too. great for the heart.
