I keep forgetting that it is on. Usually i don't bother till the mountain stages but managed to catch yesterday's stage, which was pretty damn good. Landis looked strong despite his hip problem. Suprised with Hincapie struggling so much. Big stage on Tuesday, Alpe D'Huez.

Can't stop watching this Lance video on youtube, his climb up Alpe D'Huez, when he looks like he is eyeballing Ullrich, then powers off. So awesome.

Watched CBS' coverage last Sunday after the WC final, but it's hardly captured my attention so far. Maybe closer to the later stages I'll watch a little harder (esp. if Americans are in the top running).

Landis has the yellow at the moment. Check out Tuesday's stage, that will the stage that sorts a lot out.

I'm watching, Pete. I'm not a big fan of Floyd Landis, but if he's the next great American hope, I'll pull for him. Levi's doing well too. I'm a bit disappointed in Tommy Boonen's performance so far.... he's so cute! But missing the sprint moments! Robbie McEwen is looking solid.

It's kinda early in the game to make predictions, but I don't think George Hincapie is gonna get it. Popovych did awesome today though... loved seeing him drop that French fucker on the last climb. And on Bastille Day to boot! hahaha

It's cool watching these mountain stages though... that's what separates the men from the boys.

btw, Moxie, CBS' coverage blows. See if you can hit a sports bar with OLN.

That's a very intense clip of Armstrong. I struggle with slight inclines in IL.

I was reading something about Landis the other day and they were going on about his hip but the way they were talking about it seemed like they were trying to one-up Armstrong coming back from ball cancer.

Yeah i think i read that hincapie had pretty much ruled himself out of it, just not feeling strong enough. Should be very interesting in the next week. Any idea what happened to Vinikourov(sp?)? I had a look at the betting at the start of the race and he was not included. I stuck a fiver on Valverde, oh dear!

Shiv, yeah did read that Landis may well retire after this race as he is gonna have a hip replacement. It does smell slightly of media hype though, if it was that bad then surely the dude would have no frigging chance in even completing the race yet alone challenge for the title/winner.

FLOYD FUCKING LANDIS BITCHES!!

Not sure if anybody is following this but basically yesterday American Floyd Landis, after wearing the yellow jersey for several stages, completely bonked and fell back bby 8 minutes after vicious attacks from T-Mobile team and CSC team that left him completely spent.

Every cycling expert everywhere said Landis was done and had ZERO chance of winning.

Today Team Phonak, Landis' team, said fuck you to everyone and attacked all 5 mountain climbs today and he won the stage pulling within 30 seconds of the lead.

For those that don't know that is incredible. In golf it would be like being 10 strokes back on the last day of the US Open and winning it.

I watched this for about a half hour the other day, and I have a question:

Why is NASCAR worthy of derision, while Le Tour isn't?

Because it's French and NASCAR is only for southern white males.

I would like to add that the whole culture of cycling is probably a bit more healthier than Nascar. ???

I have 2 friends that tivo this and watch it after work. They spend the whole day trying not to run into updates on the internet that would spoil the surprise of the outcome. Actually Jeff has posted here a few times.

I even watched some of that there World Cup this time. Tour is more boring than that.

Maybe I'm just not a big race guy.

i'd like to watch this but it's probably on at weird hours so i usually don't.
i'm interested to see if landis can come all the way back though, it's amazing that he went from like 14th to 3rd in a day.
