That does blow. Major label bullshit. You can order an import if you want that hard copy.

That's ridiculous. Any idea if it's going to come with any kind of bonus (tracks, disc?) to persuade people not to buy the import or just download it? The days of waiting months to buy an album after another market has already seen its release are over. People just aren't going to wait - they're going to download and probably won't buy the US version when it finally does come out without some kind of extra incentive.

Gotta agree with you Mayor. Interscope doesn't think like that. They think in quarters.

Already have it!

Why exactly has it been released in Australia before the US? (Apart from the whole touring here next week thing)

I downloaded the leak a while ago and am basically trying to figure out if the Interscope version will have any extras (or a $9.99 Best Buy price tag) to make it worth the wait.

Has anyone read why it keeps getting held up? I've heard songs from the first and subsequent leaks played in bars, clubs, as between sets music at local venues, etc. for months now.

The only thing I can come up with is that Interscope wants a Sept. release so they're more primed for year-end lists, but it seems like it would really hurt sales. I've been trying not to listen to my leaked version too much so as not to play it out before the official release. If the import version didn't cost $23 f-ing dollars, I'd definitely have this by now.

Why was this released internationally first? That's not normal is it?

I was all over their ep, but played it so much by the time the debut came out I wasn't interested in buying it. Weird. Anyway, I'm thinking I should probably remedy that and be excited for this. Am I right?

Yes. This is a pretty damn good album. And I wasn't even all that into their debut, which got a bit slow (read: boring) toward the end. You really should check this one out, though.

i guess i am not the only one who still likes a physical copy. i am grateful for all the ysi around here, but i really want the record in my hands. 9/12 is a pretty long wait. i'm sure i will be tired of it by then.

As much as I love YSIs of advance albums, once I know I like it, I have to wait for the physical copy and try my hardest not to listen to it so I don't play it out.

Yeah, Sunset Rubdown is really good. Not quite as upbeat as Wolf Parade, but some great songs.

Also, Timis, I was in no way suggesting I could live without your amazing volume of YSIs because I could not.
