Not sure if you guys have heard about this

Apparently, two guys sued BMG for exorbitant shipping rates and all BMG users get to buy a few CD's at 80% off with no S+H fees. But, if you are like me and have fulfilled multiple obligations with BMG, then I think you can fill multiple claim forms. Regardless, its a pretty good deal.

Q. - If I have had or currently have more than one membership in BMG Music Service's music clubs, am I entitled to more than one redemption Voucher?

A. - No. Each qualified member of the settlement class may only redeem one redemption Voucher.

I'm sure it was the first thing nearly everyone thought of. Including the attorneys who came up with the settlement terms unfortunately.

I filled out more than one of these. Maybe its because I put all of my BMG accounts in a different name.

So here's a question for the aspiring lawyers of the board--

As a result of this settlement, shouldn't we expect BMG to change the inappropriate behavior?

I'm not a lawyer, but I doubt it. The biggest change will probably be to their agreement, and the small print you don't even skim.

How can the consumer argue with their handling charge?
It costs money to find the cd in the warehouse and put it in the box with the right invoice.

I really like how I'm a current BMG member (and former member that had several memberships in since 1998) and I haven't even gotten wind of this but in forums like this. Isn't that illegal or something? I thought they had to contact everyone involved.

Regardless, I'll be fillin' out and getting cheap stuff.

I got something in the mail about this, but it just seemed like more of a hassle than it was worth.

Since you can just get all your discs for $5.99 at yourmusic.com with no shipping fees.

I think the bad behavior isn't the handling charge, but the "false" advertising implied in the 12 for the price of 1 when you have to pay S&H on the other 11. They'll probably just make a larger disclaimer.

Its a hassle to fill out a card, mail it back to them, and wait for the vouchers to arrive?

Honestly? Yeah.

I'm out of the house for 50+ hours a week for work...when I have precious free time, I don't wanna be fucking around with junk like that.
