I actually wish more leaders talked this way. Wouldn't it be awesome if the president said on the State of the Union, "man this middle east is f#cked up but give us some more time to sort this sh#t out because these fundementalist are as#holes." And conversely, I'd love Chirac to say something like godd@mn, that Bush can be a stubburn prick.

If Hillary Clinton had been captured on tape saying "they gotta stop this shit.." can you imagine the way the Republican spin machine would have wound that up?

Is it interesting? Newsworthy? If you are an islamicist or arab with anti-israel inclinations (i.e. about 1 billion people) hearing the president of the united states say this... "get Syria to make them stop this shit.." it would further confirm your anger about america's pro-israel bias. Is that a defensible or reasonable interpretation of the comment? no. Does that make the comment newsworthy? Of course.

I agree about the Hillary part, but realistically it's gonna take Syria and Iran to stop backing Hezbollah to get this particular issue resolved and I would think that even the those with anti-israel inclinations realize that. Moreover I don't think it's a big secret that the US is pro-Israel.

IMO, all the cable news channels suck. I happen to find CNN the least offensive, but that isn't saying that much.

As far as Fox goes, now and then I like to check in on their perspective. A couple of weeks ago, right around the time Ann Coulter was in the news for calling the 9/11 wives "broads" etc, the front page of Fox News' website ran an ad for her book. Fair and balanced, huh?

yeah, it's got nothing to do with that, but if a guy's cursing on TV, you know he's already written off 70% of the base vote that the assholes now seem to cater to so much. I'd respect that more than some dickwart windsurfing with his kids or bragging about how much they like U2.
