Went to run some errands during my lunch hour today to prep for my Tour de France partay on Saturday (estimated to be 106 that day, yay!).

While at Party City: woman in line ahead of me at checkout was buying a kajillion personal fan devices for guests at her son's outdoor wedding on Saturday. Next woman in line was wearing crappy Sony headphones, and was catering a wedding that same day, yet inexplicably, her cart contained only crepe paper.

While at Target: overheard Mom telling her 72 pound son that she's been buying him the wrong size underwear and that's why he's been so uncomfortable (she was buying underwear sized to fit boys up to 58 lbs.). She was laughing too. I felt sorry for the kid.

On the road coming back to work: saw a pickup truck (what else would it be?) with a handmade sign in the back window that said "Rice 4 8 in 2008," nestled close to the 04 Bush/Cheney sticker

yeah i saw the guy in the store afterwards. i doubt he's gotten any in years.
