OK, I figure there's gotta be someone on here who has at least a working knowledge of Nurse With Wound. I've been recommended their music a bunch of times and I never bothered to check them out. If I'm just wanting to delve into their catalog - where should I start?

What are one to three good albums from NWW that I should check out? Any help appreciated.

This is the wrong board for a question like that.

I only own Brained By Falling Masonry, so I guess that's my recommendation. Though I remember liking Homotopy To Marie quiet a bit. Haven't heard it in about 15 years or more though.

I only vaguely know "Thunder Perfect Mind". Let us know what you find.

Here's a lengthy interview with Steven Stapleton/band history from the WFMU website. Might help you get started.

I figured that there's a few people on here who tend towards the more experimental and noisy stuff, so it'd be worth a shot. I'd been seeing the intermittant posts on the WFMU blog and figured I'd try and see what other people recommended.

I'll see if there's any other comments or suggestions. If the topic drops like a stone, so be it. No big deal.

Well since we're talking WFMU, you could always hit the Search page and listen to tracks from the archives.

I downloaded a little NWW a while back, but I never really got around to listening to any of it. I can't remember what all I have off hand, but I think I've got Homotopy to Marie and Soliloquy for Lilith.

But yeah, I think this is wrong board to ask about this, unfortunately. Maybe try here:

My overall interests don't really coincide with the people there all that much, but you're certain to get some solid recommendations when it comes to older experimental stuff (they had a good thread on the Hafler Trio a while back) and a few elaborations as to why people like things. I find that overall, the folks there have good taste although I don't really share their obsession with EAI and the like.

I had a collection for a while called The Living Fear of James Last. I sold it back because I never once successfully got through either of the two discs completely.

I ripped some stuff on my computer at home because there were some electronic pieces that were pretty cool, but then there was stuff that was just interminably bad.

I'd say, look for that collection somewhere online as a starting point.
