OK I will admit it I thought the Mission were the best thing to happen since slice bread. Oh to be young and naive. I believe that I loved them because of U2; it is their fault! Looked on AMG and they have all their albums rated four to four and a half stars up to 1990, the last year I listen to them. In 1990 I discovered the Stone Roses and suddenly everything had changed. I know they suck and I don’t need to revisit to confirm. I think the Sisters of Mercy would be a much better listen today. I remember calling Poorman on KROQ, when they did live request, and requested “Love Me to Death”. My girlfriend thought it was sweet and Poorman said something like I hope she loves you to death. Well not for death but for five years which ended up being quite enough.
Back to my original quote, I had that written somewhere. A huge mistake because I had a bible thumper lecture me about the lord because of that. I was fresh out of Christian schooling and very confused. I won’t get into how I feel today.
