can i throw frozen corn on the cobs on the grill? do i need to thaw them out? I would think that it should be fine just wrapping them in foil and putting them on.

I think it's fine if they're wrapped. I wouldn't put them straight on the grill or you could get some really nasty black marks that taste like metal.

Otherwise you're good.

EDIT: Why the hell aren't you boiling them? What the hell is the difference besides the extremely long time difference that it is going to take to grill them?

I've heard you should soak them in water before grilling.

That doesn't really answer your question, though.

Are you kidding? Have you HAD corn on the cob off the grill? Heaven, man. Heaven. Worth the wait.

I don't know. I find it hard to believe that anything on the cob is remotely related to heaven. I just imagine sittin' there trying to talk to God about the mysteries of life while picking bits and pieces of corn hair and grit out muh-teeth.

Seriously though, how is it that corn on the cob wrapped in foil tastes any different than corn on the cob pulled from a boiling pan of water(edit: I mean a pan of boiling water, not a boiling pan)? I think it's placebo, man.

Yeah. But it takes longer to grill. Unless you're grilling in a crematorium.

wait what? the it takes to grill them takes LONGER than boiling a big pot of water, throwing in frozen corn, and then bring it back UP to a boil? as i've said this is my first time grilling, but i believe that you sir are talking nonsense.

PREPARATION:
Place individual ears of corn, still frozen, on a piece of heavy aluminum foil. Top with Toni's, salt and pepper, and a pat of butter. Wrap each ear of corn with foil and twist the ends. Foil wrap will look like candy wraps. I then place the individual wraps right on an open fire, but I have placed them on the grill too. Takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Enjoy!
Servings: as needed
Preparation time: 5-10 minutes

INTERNET DONT FAIL ME NOW

When you want something done right you've got to do it yourself.

In my experience with the grilling machines, almost everything takes longer. Corn has been the same. I have always found that it takes longer to grill because you have to keep twirling the corn to make sure the whole thing gets cooked or you end up having a really gnummy part followed by a bit that's still cold. And the nice thing about corn is that the water doesn't even have to be boiling for it to cook. If you put hot water in a pot, heat it to a boil, drop the corn in there and let it simmer. The corn will be done in no more than 10 minutes. Grilling is going to take you at least 20. This is in my experience, so I guess if you do have your own crematorium then it may be faster. My grills have never beens state of the art.

Hey man. Go for it. I am just trying to be difficult because the longer I talk about this the less time I have to actually work.

Enjoy it. FedEx(DHL/UPS) me some.

Who wraps them in foil. My buddy slow grills them at a low temperature before he shucks them (no foil) and the corn almost jumps off the cobb into your mouth. It is almost better than sex.

Yea, I've usually just thrown the un-shucked ear on the grill.
