I have a couple of Roku SoundBridges. One is the older M500 that is out of production but probably can still be found new for about $100. I also have an M1000 which msrp's for $200 and has a much nicer display but otherwise is essentially the same.

Advantages of the SoundBridge vs. the SqueezeBox:

-Works directly with Windows Media Connect (mp3, wma, protected wma, wma lossless, aiff, wav) and iTunes (mp3, non-protected aac, au, mp3, aiff, wav) with no addition software to install. Can also use Firefly as a server which plays all of the above plus apple lossless, flac, ogg and a few other formats as well. There are other servers you can use too but FireFly is made specifically for the SoundBridge and can play pretty much any format so why bother with SlimServer, Twonky, etc. ? Plus it works with all of the Play For Sure streaming services if you care about those. The SqueezeBox OTOH
must use their SlimServer server software, period.

-Priced at least $100 less than a wi-fi SqueezeBox.

Advantages of SqueezeBox:

-802.11G vs. 802.11B for the SoundBridge, however, you can pick up a wireless G bridge for about $50 and connect that to the SoundBridge's ethernet port. I have all of my music ripped in wma lossless and B streams just fine, but I don't have any other wi-fi G devices to slowdown and I only allow my music files over the network so I don't really need WPA encryption.

-SqueezeBox is supposed to have better DACs but I use the digital output so that didn't matter at all to me.

-Squeezebox passes 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz. The M500 is 44.1 kHz only and converts 48 kHz to 44.1 khz. M1000 is 48 kHz and 44.1 kHz gets converted to 48 kHz. What this means in the real world is if you have DTS CDs ripped it'll playback fine on the SqueezeBox and M500 but not on the M1000. If you have an HDCD decoder those files play on all but the M1000 won't get the extra HDCD decoding.

You can't really go wrong with either brands. Get one and it'll completely change the way you listen to music at home :)
