Hm, perhaps OPA should give you the recap on Saturday night, since he decided not to show up for brunch on Sunday.

Sunday everybody (some obners, plenty of real people) came over to my place starting at around 1, and we ate and watched the world cup projected 5 feet high on my wall. Afterward, we found a diamond in the park and divided into teams--all of the other obners were on visiting Team Awesome, and I was on The Quickies. The first inning did not go well for the Quickies, and 4 runs in we decided to switch to 1-out innings. Fortunately, that was the only inning where Team Awesome scored so many, and we split the difference at 2-out innings starting in the 3rd or so. Team Awesome continued to dominate, racking up 8 runs throughout the game and holding The Quickies to a mere 2 through the 8th. There was much shit-talk, particularly from Katie, and a fair amount of controversy over rules.

Things were looking pretty bad by the bottom of the 9th. The Quickies' lead-off hitter nabbed a single, but our second went down swinging, leaving us with one runner on, 6 runs down, and one out away from a loss. Starting with the 3rd batter, however, everything turned around. The Quickies soon loaded the bases and just kept hitting (and Team Awesome erroring) and bringin em around. Taking advantage of an errant throw home, I slid in for the tying run, landing a righteous bloody knee and head-to-toe dusting. Then Squirrgle's friend Matt, who hadn't hit all game, hit a single with a runner in scoring position and delivered the W.

Then the out-of-townbners went home, and everyone else drank and played Trivial Pursuit at my place until about 10pm.

i was shocked there wasn't more shit talk.

i dove twice at second base. and i was not responsible for the fights over the rules.

shiv and cotton were dressed for success, we just couldn't put the quickies to sleep in the ninth. i think alison and i were too busy doing cartwheels in left field.

I totally wish i'd been around for trivial pursuit, since I could've had a far greater impact on that game... next time it's ultimate frisbee and trivial pursuit.

i'm shocked that chris bailed on sunday. he was probably off fake fighting someone.

as it stood we got home just after 10. NJ Transit gets a hearty "fuck off". Still, I have all sorts of goodies from the Giant Robot store and got to meet all you fine folks. Hopefully next time I'll make bar night.

it should also be stated that Katie makes an awesome chocolate castle cake.

Sorry I didn't make it...I didn't get to sleep until 6:00 AM. After I left the bar, I ended up hanging out with a friend and lost track of time.

When I woke up Sunday morning (or was it afternoon?), I just knew that it wasn't happening. I figured, I wouldn't be missed, with so many people going, so just decided to stay home and relax.

Anyway, it sounds like you guys had a wonderful time.

As for Saturday night, it was a nice pleasant evening with dinner and drinks afterwards at a nice quaint bar in Queens. As always, the company was amazing.

I had a great time this weekend. Thanks to Aaron for letting me crash at his place all weekend. We'll have to have another meet & greet soon.

I didn't get home until around 1am last night thanks to my totally inept sense of direction and the stopping at nearly every rest stop didn't help either.

I apologize for any part I had in rule-disputing, as well. Buncha law students makes for fertile grounds, I guess. But holy crap that was a fun game. Katie's smack-talking was absolutely inspirational. The cartwheels, just icing on the cake.

Fuck yeah, man. For 8.5 innings, we were fast and pretty.

Sorry for the pic selection Cotton - I didn't get too many good Ob shots.

Hopefully you got some bar shots you can post... Several of mine had a wardrobe "malfunction" in them, and are not postable.

Cotton was a stud. He was ferocious. Hell, his lady did well too.

I think I had a single, double and 2 strikeouts which can be accounted for by pitchers thinking they were Clemens in 1986.
