this is a very rock-ist board (which is great) but I am always in need of more electronica/techno but never feel like I am in the loop.

I am into A LOT of it...just bought Herbert - Scale and have been listening to a lot of Jan Jelinek.

Feel free to post new purchases/rec's etc here....

the new basement jaxx is good as is the new junior boys. otherwise, i've been struggling to find some gems in electronica.

Nothing's really grabbed me since Vitalic's "Poney Part 1," which is apparently been a single for years despite its presence on OK Cowboy.

The new Zero 7 is solid.

I'm a big fan of Fluke - Risotto. The newer album Puppy isn't as good, but still pretty good. RIYL Crystal Method - Vegas.

So. Would The Radio Dept. be considered electronica? Or at least partially electronica?

Ellen Allien & Apparat - Orchestra of Bubbles
Hot Chip - The Warning
MSTRKFRT - The Look
Dominik Eulberg made me freak out during his set at Pitchfork Fest.
The Knife - Silent Shout
Psapp - The Only Thing I Ever Wanted

Check out Other Music's recommended electro stuff from 2006. They've rarely steered me wrong when it comes to electronic.

Really wanna hear that.

As One has a new one coming this fall that's going to be a return to his "Planetary Folklore" sound & Carl Craig was suppossed to have a Japan only remix comp come out sometime this year.

I've heard a lot of these guys (love 'em) but no, they would not be considered electronica. They can always use another name-check tho so thanks! :D

So far this year, I've really liked:

ISAN: Plans Drawn in Pencil - great in a rolling analogue synth kinda way

and

Burial - Mostly deep, menacing and metalic

Eraser was good too if you count it.

Would like to find some more, and this thread will give me a few places to look...
