I was just listening to this again this evening for the first time in a while and realized what a great record this is. I mean, there's not a bad track on the whole thing. Hate if you must.

That is all.

This and Keane were much-maligned around the same time. Both hold up well.

I think both suffer from sameness and attention wanders before the albums are done, but I still like both.

Yeah, the last four songs or so are pretty definitive examples of filler, especially after that run at the top.

I'll be interested when bands no longer feel they have to put out chunks of music in >40 minute chunks.

I like that new Killers song, too. Looking forward to the new release.

I've only heard the singles, which I like. But never wanted to spend the time listening to the whole album.

If they had sequenced the CD differently and spread the strong tracks out, I'd have given it an 8. But I think of it as a 6, leaning toward a 5, but then back to 6 because the video for "All These Things That I've Done" is great.

Agreed. This is a very good record. A lot of people will deride it as being too commercially polished sounding but I like it fine. Especially that swirling new wave synth.

This was a top ten release for me in 2005 along with The Engineers and The Bloc Party.

i liked all these things that i've done but that's about it.

The new song would be okay if it had a melody.

Though, I should mention the entire disc falls under the "good listen" as a whole for me anyway.

You can't appreciate their masterful makeup jobs in that black and white cover.

as mentioned above in various ways, this should've probably been an EP.

I'd only be betraying myself if I didn't completely loathe this band.

Funny, but I still play both their albums often. I agree they're both still pretty great.
