Our beloved Dreaded Marco (Mike) is visiting town with his lovely wife. Unfortunately, his wife is going to be busy, leaving Mike to roam as he pleases. Yay for us! We're trying to firm up plans for the 1st Annual Martini Club Gathering -- west coast style. Here are tentative plans so far:

Tonight: Trying like hell to find a ticket for Hot Chip at the Troub. It's a sold out show, but Mike would like to go. Dri and I will be in attendance.

Thursday: Mike and Dri are doing Bloc Party at the Greek

Friday: Dri's birthday shenanigans -- we may not live the night.

Saturday: Amon Tobin in Pasadena

Sunday: Open -- we could meet for brunch, lunch or Amoeba.

Monday: I have Mew at the Troubadour that night, but Little Ones are playing at Spaceland (free show). Potential for others to gather?

Tuesday: Mike and wife depart.

my ears were burning and as i read through the thread, I saw the word, AMOEBA.....yup, that was the reason.

this is pretty much what i'm doing over the next few days:

tonight - hot chip (i'll ask around at work today to see if an extra ticket comes up but i don't know since all of us who are going from work are on will call)

tomorrow - scored tix to bss/bloc party @ the greek. and i'll probably be going to a bar after.

friday - took the day off and preparing for my liver to die.

saturday - tentative. most likely amon. but not sure yet.

sunday - recover. but i'm down to meet up for brunch or whatever.

monday - i have no choice, i'll be at spaceland every monday in august for the little ones' residency so i will be there for sure. let me know if any of you are going.

Yabby You is performing at the Echo's Dub Club tonight...I'm debating going to that but will probably end up skipping it because I'm pretty tired from last night. If you don't get a ticket for Hot Chip though and want to twist my arm to do something, it might be twistable.

I live right around the corner from the Greek so if you guys want to meet somewhere after the show tomorrow for a drink, I'd be up for that. Either at a bar or I could make martinis at my place.

The rest of the weekend I'm gonna have to play by ear. Sunday late afternoon I'm going to see Barcelona play Chivas...I'm not sure what time I need to leave for that but I might be able to meet for an early brunch or amoeba trip...but it would have to be an early one.

Other than that, I have a going away party for a friend that I haven't gotten final word on whether its Friday night or Saturday night...I'll be free the other night whichever night its not.

I'll also be stuck at home for a chunk of the day on Saturday awaiting some furniture to be delivered. Magnolia Electric Co (5pm) is playing an early show at the Echo. I'm gonna try to catch that assuming my furniture is all squared away.

So hopefully our schedules work out....I'll pm my contact info.

Hot Chip were fantastic!! Dri was muthafuckin' drunk! D Marco scored a free ticket to tonight's sold out show. Dri, Mike and Tania met. Mike drank alone and didn't appear to be feeling any pain when we finally did meet.

Dri and Mike will be at Bloc Party tomorrow. Hopefully, meeting up with Billy G for pre-show martinis. I shan't be in attendance sorry to say.

I totally forgot I'm seeing Lenine tonight, so pre-show martinis won't work for me either. Its an early show though so I'll probably be back in the area by the time Bloc Party ends if you want to change it to post-show martinis.
