I just got back from work and noticed my girlfriend wasn't home. She was suppose to go to a birthday party for one of her work friends, so I thought she just left early, since she said she thought she would still be here once I got back.
Then I logged on to check my mail, since she said she might email me and found out she is going to see Of Montreal and The Minders with a friend of hers who had an extra ticket.
I really wanted to go to this show, but didn't ask off for it, since this is our busiest week of work and due to the fact I took off last weekend for a wedding. I would however gladly rushed and cleaned myself up at work to head down a few blocks to this show and meet her there.
This is the first time Of Montreal and The Minders have played Lincoln, usually they play Omaha. My girlfriend has never really seemed interested in seeing them, even when they play with Tilly and The Wall.
I realize she is just taking a spare ticket, but I'm a little upset, since she initially said she was going to a party that I wasn't invited to, nor had any real interest in attending.

does your girlfriend know that you like these bands? if yes, you definitely have a right to be at least a little upset. if no, i guess you can't really say much except that she probably should've known better. i mean, she's seen your music collection before, right? she should know.

Man, she was sitting at home doing nothing. You can't get pissed that she chose to do something, unless it was shagging me again.

I think she knows I like these bands, since I have talked about Elephant 6 with her a few times. In her defense, I have a huge music collection and do not have any real Of Montreal albums, only some of their songs on mix cd's. I do however have the gig poster for this show as my background.
And no she wasn't sitting around doing nothing, she had to work until 8pm and then was suppose to go to a party that I still believe is happening.

I also forgot to add that I was unreachable by phone while at work, since I was not in my office nor could I use a cell phone, but I did check my email at 5pm while I was on break.
