This seems like something that would appeal to fans of that newest Liars record and The English Beat? At least this song "The Misfit". I don't know. This record is tripping me out. This is not at all what I imagine when I think of Oneida ...

"Up With People" is awesome. I haven't given the rest of the album enough of a listen to make a proper judgment, but I like what I've heard.

RIYL: Dancing, Awesomeness, Dancy Liars, Slightly less accessible LCD Soundsystem

It's a great album. Not the most accessible thing in the world, but if you like Liars, I'd say give it a shot.

These dudes like to mindfuck. I'm glad they've lived up to their rep, at least on this board.

this is a strange record. i understand why people compare this to liars, but in the end i don't hear it. i'll have to spin it again some other time.

I don't hear Liars in the slightest. One thing this record is lacking is cohesiveness.

I didn't buy the last one, The Wedding. How does Happy New Year compare to that record?

Yeah, it's a super album. Grown on me a lot over the last couple of months. "Distress" and "Up with people" are probably my fav tracks. I can understand the comparisons with Liars though.

I should check this out.
