i read a review from ign and they gave the ps2 version an 8.3. they basically said there was no real upgrade (aside from the superstar mode) from last year.

heres the cliffs notes version of the ign review:
While the inclusion of NFL Network mode and the redone Superstar mode reinvigorates the game, Madden NFL 07 still features so many of the same bugs and issues from previous years that should’ve been fixed a while ago. Considering that many of the gameplay features are extremely mild remixes of previously included gameplay options, this year’s Madden comes across as a solid title, but one that’s starting to show its age.

madden's engine was old two years ago, and its clear it desperately needs updating. and ill still play it like theres no tommorow. im officially ea's bitch.

I give credit to EA for running with this forever, but does this game really sell a lot of titles each year? Has anyone here bought, say, all seven versions since 2000? Personally, I hate football games. 360 needs a good baseball game! That 2k one was very weak.

The best game in the history of the world.

I heard on the radio today these stats:

2005's best selling album: Mariah Carey - 4 million plus albums @ $15-$18 each

2005 Madden - 51 million sold @ $50 each.

Unbelievable.

Well when EA has an exclusive 5 year deal in place with the NFL to be the only company that can make an official NFL title, you really have no choice which basically sucks for us consumers..

Just picked it up on the way home from work, I'm just about to install it. Some new features I've heard are that there are new juking moves for running backs, and you can also take control of the lead blocker then switch back to the HB.

I've bought every Madden for at least the last 4-5 years.

Well I gave in..I just got back from trading in my XBox, a few games and about 500 bucks and I picked up the 360 Pro, with Madden 07 and Dead Rising. I was gonna get a 360 anyway, so why now..Haven't played Madden since 96 on the Genesis so this should be fun.

Dalen shed a tear over that one. Great work, thrillhouse.

I used to love playing Madden in the late 90's on the original Playstation. I was the champion of my dorm floor for quite sometime, which was quite an accomplishment for me since I haven't bought a new gaming system since Sega Genesis came out. Lately, if I play a new sports game it is the latest edition of NCAA Football.

I'm stuck with Madden and NCAA '04 simply because I don't want to have to re-enter the NCAA rosters, and I've got my alma mater to the point where we've repeated as National Champs and have four players going in the first round of the draft.

Uploading the draft pool from NCAA to Madden is the best thing ever.

One thing I've noticed, Madden All-Pro is infinitely harder than NCAA All-American.
