In order of delicious:
1. PBR
2. High Life
3. Stroh's
4. Schmidt
5. Schlitz
5. Genesee Cream Ale (tie)

All six, in a metal pail w/ice, for $12. Sometimes they rotate in other beers, like Schneider's, but lately it's been pretty consistent.

EDIT: sorry--$12, not $6. That would just be crazy.

Wow, that is pretty awesome. Not bad price either, for NYC or anywhere.

And Haq, Ballantine is awesome. Not cos its good, but just cos its Ballantine.

oh i hear you loogar--i'm not one to turn my nose up at any beer. but it's definitely last one i reach for. for pure "wtf" factor though, my vote goes to schmidt, for it's nature scenes:

Of those, Schmidt is the one I have never had. I actually LIKE Schlitz and High Life. Gennie just makes me laugh for some reason.

it gets going on weekends, but honestly i rarely see people reach for the crapocopia. if it was in one of new york's billion artist/musician/temp worker communities, it would be a real hit, but people in cobble hill tend to have a little bit more money.

i have never had schmidt either, but I imagine what it would taste like. and there is nothing wrong w/ The Champagne. i'm surprised Rheingold isn't on that list. or is that not held in as low regard?

the bartender seemed mildly pleased to have such upstanding citizens as ourselves in his bar last night. seemed to be a couple of later afternoon 'sports drunks' and then later a table i could only assume was 'business cult' populated the area towards the back, with 'serious bocce crew' showing up a bit later.

ryan: rheingold does tend to fetch closer to $3 (or even $4 in a bottle at a music venue) around here, but i don't even remember if floyd carries it. i would rather any beer in the crapocopia than a rheingold.

bearpaw: was it the little guy with the really short hair? you really do get all kinds at floyd. there's this crowd of dartmouth kids who play bocce, one of whom we refer to as "the hamptons" for his general jude-law like manner, pastel shorts, and crumpled linen shirts.

I drank the fuck out of Schmidt's at Ole Miss once. It had geese on the can though. Fucking camp beer.

high life is the best shitty beer, and PBR is drastically overrated by you brooklyn types.

Worst shit beer ever? either schaeffers or keystone light. Schlitz is pretty terrible too.

oh and they definitely still make the Ballentine.

the bartender had a pretty close cropped haircut, pretty slight build, i'd say under 6' tall. nice guy.
didnt pay too much mind to the bocce crew, but there was definitely a blueblood looking guy with a pretty serious mug.

oh, so where do i live? right now, on 43rd st/14th avenue in boro park, about 5 mins by bike from the PP entrance at coney island ave. looking at some places soon, moving in october, and i know my gf is checking out a place on 19t/4th this afternoon, which was my old hood for about 10 years...

edit: & like i said, the bike takes me everywhere. i ride it to hank's pretty much every time i go there.

i just like pbr better than high life.

keystone doesn't even enter into this picture--it's a shitty beer currently imbibed keg-wise by college kids. you have to have once attained at least regional success/glory and then fallen far, far into the depths of obscurity for some time before you can grace the crapocopia.

bearpaw: that ride is probably shorter than i'm imagining, but damn... after a few crapocopias, i can't even imagine.

wait - are these 12oz? or jumbos?

$12 for a mixed sixpack is pretty expensive.

I don't know why I didn't catch the "in a bar" part. Kinda ruins the funny image I had in my head of you skipping down 42nd street, swinging a bucket of crap beer in each hand.
