This shit looks dynamite. Read the review and an article about in the new RS.

I'm pumped.

Discuss.

Definitely want to take this in sometime soon. I haven't read a review yet, but the plot outline sounds interesting as hell. I almost always enjoy Clooney and Damon.

DIEING to see this. Looks like so fucking qual.

Based partially on this book:[img][331:500]http://a1204.g.akamai.net/7/1204/1401/05103111011/images.barnesandnoble.com/images/10320000/10325031.jpg[/img]

Shit should be HOTT.

Bloor, you actually GO SEE A MOVIE?

The gf actually manages to get me into the multiplex every now and again. (Note: The nootsie? Still undefeated)

I put my foot down with regards to Harry Potter and Rent. That's when I suggest that her and her sister need to go spend some quality time together.

But I will see this shit on my own volition.

I just checked and it was a limited release on the 23rd but it's in all theatres on the 9th.

Entertainment Weekly gave it a B-, but then again this is the magazine that gave Just Friends a B+.

i played hooky and went to a matinee yesterday after being thwarted by sold out shows twice before. i really enjoyed it. the optimist in me wishes that a lot of people with different politcal ideologies will see it and reconsider some of their own behaviors, but the realest in me knows that even a well crafted piece of socially concious art changes nothing. oh well.

Saw it last night. It is a good movie. Recommended. The story, editing, etc. left me perplexed. I was overthinking the complex story. This is one dark movie and I haven't seen anything that made me feel the way this movie made me feel since "The Corporation" or "The Fog of War."
The "realest" (sic) in you is right on. The movie just shows that you have no power to do anything and to be politically active from the outside (or inside) is futile and only serves to bolster your principles, which is a respectable thing in my mind. The bigwigs and corporations run this country and the world.
Does anyone else see this changing anytime in the next 100 years?

Unfortunately no. If there's one thing I learned from being in politics for a couple years is that ignorance is bliss. Being on the inside of it will make you a cynic in a hurry.

On a movie related note, I saw Capote last night. Excellent film. Very detailaed portrayal of Capote during the years he was writing "In Cold Blood" and how it ultimately drained him of his creative energies. Kinda dark, very little music but intriguing.

If there is a more versatile actor than Phillip Seymour Hoffman working today I haven't seen him. He should get an oscar nom for this.

Saw it last night. It was hard to follow sometimes. But not a let down in the slightest. It had the same feel of Traffic.

saw it yesterday, like it lots. only thing i wish they would have developed more is the subplot with the two kids and the boat. i thought that issue demanded a little more exploration than it got

Definitely. Solid movie, but the progression from downtrodden immigrant worker to suicide bomber was pretty flimsy.
