Album will look like this:

Despite the gay font, this is almost as rad as the new Six Organs of Admittance cover:

I like the "font".

Both are good covers.

It's an unbelievable leap forward from Blue Cathedral. Sure the kind of structure and melody was there in the background of Blue Cathedral under the echoplex and screaming, but Avatar just blows all their previous work out of the water.

It's such a good album.

Do you guys have a favourite song. I love "Sour Smoke". It seems like the only Chasny joint on the album. I wouldn't see it's my favourite, but it's fucking groovy.

I picked this up from the station today to review. I'm not too familiar with these guys but what with everyone round these parts raving about them I figured it was worth my time at least. And I can testify that the packaging is indeed quite nice. Plus it has lyrics.

Wow this is pretty badass. Their drummer is amazing.

When did these guys get so good?

Between this and Espers II, I'm reconsidering my opinion of psych/stoner rock. Someone recommend me some more stuff like this. Even old stuff.

I've never thought much of their drummer, but I guess he is integral to their sound.

Comets got really good with this record. "Blue Cathedral" is a lesser awesome, while "Field Recordings from the Sun" is an equal lesser awesome.

If you haven't heard Six Organs of Admittance, you have to.

I dunno, I thought Field Recordings was pretty awesome. Maybe less so than the new one, but I'm trying to restrain myself from listening to that until I get a real copy.

Blue Cathedral is probably their weakest, IMO. Their first album is fun and really pretty endearing although completely different from the direction they've gone in now.

Don't hope. Just know. It's my favourite album this year. Sorry Spank Rock.
