It blatantly apes T.Rex, Urge Overkill, the Stones (of course), and tens of others. The songs are not only unoriginal, they're not even all that good - weak imitations of their antecedents - and the vocals are merely competent. I can't defend it on any level. And yet, I haven't been able to take the muffugga out of the player for 5 days now. I swear, if it stays in for another 9 it's making my Shmoo poll.

Great live band (saw them last week, in fact) but you're 100% correct about the record.

I'd have to go with a band like Type O Negative or Killdozer. Both suck, but in glorious, self-aware manners.

Oddly enough, I dusted off a beat-up copy of Type O Negative's Bloody Kisses today and rocked out sophomore-year-of-college style. "Black No. 1" is hilarious.
