Actually, have you (or other Bostonians) seen that awful stretched Hummer painted like the American flag around town? Hideous.

I'm not sure what's funnier...that 'limo' or the fact that Boston has pro-surfers.

I should make one thing clear at this point. The North East UNited States shoreline has some of the best waves in the country. Everybody seems to think that the west coast is the end all of surfing. It's not. People out here are spoiled rotten. We all know that the Northeast United States is subject to some serious weather and some serious ocean conditions. THose who surf in the northeast are significantly more dedicated to the sport than most people I have ever met. I, though, am biased. I spent most of my life on the east coast having to defend myself to all the west coast "brah's" I came across. Unending criticism of the conditions and such.

I wish I could post a video clip to show you some of the intense surfing that takes place up in that region of the united states.

However, this has nothing to do with the topic but I thought I would share...:)

THe limo is kinda awesome. What's your friend's name Mlle XIIX

here's one from Jersey. Not even as far north as mass.

An here is one from southern New England.

Ok. my point has been made. I will leave this thread alone. I get a bit defensive.:)

his name is Zev
he won some NE Surifing Championship last year- the funny thing is it was in November. and then he moved on to something in Nova Scotia in January. Even I think that's nuts but really, the water is a lot warmer than the air.
wait, I found a pic of him, ha ha

Ahem... as a native Californian (childhood: huntington, doheny, malibu, rincon, PB san diego... and now longtime resident of Santa Cruz... and a traveler to Maui, North Shore and Kauai) you were high when you wrote this, right? Please tell me you were high. Seen/done surf in Maine, NH, Mass, RI and NJ... Tell me you were high...

Yeah, I've got to agree with Harry on that one. I'm no surfer, but much of my family does that and while they may be more dedicated it's only because this is not surfer land and the beaches are not nearly as good at it. If you love ice skating and live in Africa you'd probably have to be pretty dedicated, but that doesn't affect the fact that you don't have ice.

You could maybe try and defend some areas further south on the coast, but the northeast? Tough sell.
