It was sweet. New record for a Red Sox player, one better than Jimmy Foxx.

But, the shit-eating grin on Johan Santana's face as he turned away tells me he purposefully hung the meatball right down there for Ortiz to take.

Very cool, considering the Twins are trying to win tonight to take the division lead.

I still consider 50 to be a big deal, especially in cases like Ryan Howard or Ortiz, since I don't really suspect them of juicing. At least not to Sosa or McGwire levels, anyway.

I think it is too. I just mean in terms of "airplay". No one seems to make as much of a racket about it even though it's still pretty damn impressive.
