So my computer seemed all fine and good until suddenly, this past Friday, it was touched by the grim reaper or something. Motherboard dead, harddrive dead, processor dead, power supply dead, and all at once no less. My brother is building me a new one, but it will take at least a week for all the parts to come in and for him to put it together. So for now I'm stuck with a machine with only an 8 GB harddrive and no sound card. Balls.

that sucks! the same thing happened to my buddy because he lived in an old shitty house. he had his computer plugged into a surge protector and everything, but none of the outlets in the house were properly grounded. the first time there was a thunderstorm everything fried.

as far as i know, no. plus i have my computer plugged into a seriously strong surge supressor which set me back like 35-40 dollars itself. Everything just failed at once.

I bet the power supply died in a spectacular way, and took everything else with it.

you're positive all of those things are broken? you tried them all individually in another computer?
