Why does your friend have flames shooting out of his ass? Is he that fast on a bike?

Nice. I usually ride rogue so I never get any shots. Very cool shot though. I should've been out this afternoon mudding it up in this rain we've been having.

I'm afraid I won't be any help. I can't get past how filthy he is.

From his position on the bike I can tell he's hitting a steep descent - but the photo itself lacks that perspective.

I'd try holding the camera at more of an angle, to exaggerate the grade of the descent. I'd also use a slow shutter speed (depending on available light, somewhere around 1/30 second) with a flash - and I'd pan the camera with the movement of the bike - which would blur the background and give the suggestion of speed.

It's actually almost level. And I did move the camera with the rider. The camera/flash was able to get everything clearly, except for the light behind him, which is blurred.

But thanks for the tips.

Then you need a longer shutter speed and should try riding on hills.

Pretty obvious you don't know wtf you're talking about.
