Paul Quinn and the Independent Group 'Will I Ever Be Inside Of You'.

I've heard stories of this album being sold for the equivalent of $70 - 80.

Never been able to find a copy in second hand stores despite 10 years of looking.

Perhaps one day...

I may have posted this before, but I looked for years for a copy of New Kingdom's "Heavy Load" album, only to find it and discover that either it or I had changed in the ten years since I'd last heard it, and it was terribly rotten now.

Believe it or not, I actually FOUND the album that I was desperately searching for...
The Parliments - Early Singles: 1964-67

Lo-fi, early versions of future classics, such as: "Testify", "The Goose that laid The Golden Egg", "I Call My Baby Pussycat", and lots more.

I literally danced around the store, holding the album above my head when I stumbled upon it. So happy.

That, and Billy Nichol - Would You Believe?.

the sad thing is that, with the demise of my stereo (and hence, my turntable), I cannot play either album. It's one of my life's great ironies.

I don't have the opportunities to rummage through shops as much as some of you, since I live away from away, but:

Clive Pig & The Hopeful Chinamen - A Sense of the Size of the World

It's possible it never came out on CD and is OOP vinyl.

Three cd's I've been looking for for a long while to no avail:

The Lowest Of The Low - City Full Of Cowards [CD-Single]

Beat Happening - Crashing Through [Box Set]

and the first Feist album, ever since I foolishly sold it.

I'm pretty sure Criminal Records here still has this.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but in high school a good friend of mine had an import Scandinavian-only LP release of Michael Monroe's first solo album: Nights Are So Long (1987). Years later I find myself really wanting to hear this again for nostalgic reasons so I called the friend up one day and she told me she sold it...ten years ago.

I have yet to find this in any cd/vinyl store that I've been in. I even looked for it when I was in Rome. When I ask about it, the record store clerks usually give me a funny look and say, "Who?"

I've found nothing on eBay and I went to every record store in this city to see if they could order it and they all said it's out of print. I would freak if I found it in for sale somewhere.

Their 2nd album is better anyways.

Must not be a lot of Beat Happening fans around here.

(And it may not actually be in stock.)

there are too many to list. whenever i have found something that i've desperately searched high and low for, i'm introduced to another album that seems even more difficult to find.

Doesn't really apply since I found one at Gemm for 44.00 but I've been on the look out for The Mortal Micronotz album. They were a punk band from Lawrence, KS in the mid-80's that Jello Biafra kind of took under his wing. My tape died and I'd really like to have the album but 44.00 plus shipping seems kinda steep. Think I'll keep looking.

You know what else? When you finally find that elusive holy grail and sit down to listen to it, it's never as good as you imagined it would be.

Well here's mine:

Songs: Ohia - The Gray Tower 7"

Two songs from the same sessions as Didn't It Rain that preceded the release of that album. I've only just started looking for it recently as I've only just realized about a month ago that my copy is missing. It's OOP, of course, and it's not on gemm or ebay. I'm seriously pissed about losing this. It's far and away the best 7" I ever bought, and a perfect companion to one of my favorite albums. Fuck.

I searched for an affordable copy of Tom Verlaine's "Dreamtime" for ages before finding a copy at an FYE close to work for $6.99.

I was pretty shocked when I found a copy of Neil Young's Time Fades Away for $7 in pretty good condition. I don't really know how common that it is, but I always thought it'd be pretty rare since it's never been released on CD.

I've got 'em. Which one did you need?

For me, it's the soundtrack to "Rock and Rule" and The Chills' "Secret Box".

This would probably be my choice as well, but I never look for it in stores, just on ebay. There are still cd copies floating around, but they end of going for high prices.

I'd like to find an cd copy of Platinum Blonde's Standing in the Dark, which is pretty rare. And pretty much any of The Forgotten Rebels other albums (Still in Hollywood & Boys Will Be Boys

Oh wait, the thread title said "desperately." I've never searched "desperately" for anything that wasn't booze or toilet related. Except that time I got lost in the woods when I was 13 and that time my brother Matt got lost in a near-hurricane. Oh, and the joint that fell out of my pocket at a police traffic stop. And that time I dropped the wedding ring in the snow...okay a few times, maybe.

I'm guessing you've done this already, but have you called Love Garden in Lawrence to see if they have a copy?
