I propose that all of us who've benefitted from the largesse of Timis this year pool contributions and get that magnanimous mofo an honest-to-goodness kick-ass Christmas present. Posting this thread may eliminate the element of surprise in terms of him finding out he's going to get A present, but he can at least still be surprised by WHAT we get him.

If you'd like to participate, PM me. It's the least we can do.

Oh wait.

You're asking us to actually give something back in return?

Um, err....

I'd contribute if I wasn't nearly broke, but since I'll barely be able to buy presents for my family I probably shouldn't.
I'll consider a small paypal donation as it gets closer to the Holidays.

Dude, if eveyone who's D/Led something from him chipped in a fiver, that would be pretty sweet. Is a finski too much to ask for what has basically amounted to a completely hassle-free (not to mention cost-free) mp3 delivery service?

It's not like he's sporadically posted a YSI here and there. It's almost daily now.

Nobody's compelling you to chip in, just like nobody's compelling me to do something batshit crazy like give my fucking mailman a Christmas tip.

That's really all I'm talking about here. I'm not expecting anyone to cough up $20 or something.

Hell, I'd chip in five dollars based on that one time I was in a hotel room with high speed and immediately got a link to the new Yo La Tengo.

Maybe if the alcoholics on Obner didn't drink any alcohol for one day they could contribute that money to buy a brand new car for Timis.

I'm about to be rural, where Cletus slaps a magnetic "U.S. Mail" sign on his John Deere and delivers my mail by thrasher, so bushes are a DEFINITE possibility.

All we are asking is give $5 via PayPal a chance.

Yeah, I'm definitely in once the holidays roll around. I'm feeling guilty for all the albums he's given me this year that I didn't buy. I saved a crap ton of cash, so I can cough up a five for his services.

Wouldn't his accepting cash and or gifts for his illegal distribution of copyrighted materials make it more illegal?

This is not a quid pro quo, dorkus. Even though I've just about word-for-word spelled it out as such. But I'm not a credible witness.
