Interesting article. O' course music will always matter as long as there are cooperate exploits and commercialization to be archieved. And as long as we have that emotional need to 'rest our head' on soothing, wonderous vibrations. Afterall it is the only 'drug' you can take without losing any of those precious, functional processes we call Neurons.

As long as man can pick up a Guitar, music matters.

Kinda makes me feel funny about tearing through 8-10 albums a day while at work. Music has become more a necessity for me than a privilege. It's like that point of addiction where you're just doing it to act normal rather than to get high. Which is not to say that it never has a profound effect on me, but I'm definitely more oversaturated and jaded than I used to be. I don't think that's all that uncommon, either, at least among people like us.

Thanks for posting that! And yes, Drinky, I agree. This is why I always feel like I'm so slow on the uptake with the folks around here, because I just cannot process that many albums in a short time span. I have to take my time absorbing and ruminating on something before I can offer a definitive opinion. And quite honestly, the only real time I have to devote to listening to music is usually in my car, or at work, which can be haphazard in itself.

And Antony Hegarty... my first real concert was Duran Duran too! ;)
