I dunno about you, but I tend to be a late morning breakfast person or skip it altogether. Being that breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day, I'm trying to incorporate it back into my morning routine. Thus, have been reintroduced to oatmeal. I had forgotten how tasty it is -- especially, on a cool morning like today, it's perfect breakfast food. Add a bit of cinammon and Splenda...mmmmm. If I had raisins, I'd throw those in too.

What about you? What do you have for breaky?

I keep it fairly light with a wheat bagel or toast.

Do you ever eat Irish Oatmeal? It's much better tasting but it isn't instant. Takes forever to cook.

What's Irish Oatmeal? I mean, what's the difference? What makes it Irish? Is it green? Do I design a shamrock on top?

I think it's called pinwheel oatmeal too. Basically it's the same as regular but it isn't processed. Oatmeal is passed through machines that flaten it, which allow it to cook faster but it also removes flavor. Irish or pinwheel doesn't go through that process. Here's the most popular brand

I'd be careful with the Splenda.

That's just one site- Google for more bad stuff.

Oh geez...so, which is the lesser of the two evils, Splenda or Sweet n Low? Next thing you're gonna tell me is that my vibrator causes cancer.

You can cook it overnight in a crock pot and that way it's ready when you wake up.

Yeah, I probably would if I wanted to eat oatmeal for a week. But I'm just one person.

Hmm...I wonder if the dogs would like oatmeal.

i put mine in a rice cooker with a timer on it the night before and it's ready for me in the morning. worth noting that the mccans tin has a ribbon for the uniformity of granulation award. have your cardboard tasting nutrient dreprived rolled oats even been nominated? also, not called pinwheel oats, but pinhead oats. STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION.

you are damn right it's a good idea. you need one with a timer and a 'porridge' or 'slow cook' setting if you want to play with the big boys.
