I just haven't been happy with my company as of late, so I applied elsewhere and alas! I have a job interview on Friday for an assistant media planner position for a huge ad agency up in LA.

If all goes as planned, 1. I finally can move back up there, and 2. this will be a huge step in my career- being that I want to get into media planning. The pay is shitty, I would have to take a small paycut, but in the long run- it'll work out better because there's room for advancement after a year, unlike where I'm working right now.

I'm nervous. I really, really hope I get this job- this would be a great way to kick off the year.

Oh, and the irony is that my car died on me yesterday... so I have until then to figure out how I'm going to get up there. If anything, I can reschedule- the HR director said if I had any problems with taking time off work for the interview, then to give him a call and we can reschedule for next week.

ARGH.

Luck. Seems I have an extraordinary amount of friends/associates looking for jobs these days and I wish everyone the best in getting what they want.

Let us know how things turn out Dri. And have one for the Ob if the interview is followed by a celebratory bar/club night.

Well- the car rental thing won't work, I'm not 25 yet, so I'm looking into public transportation (which sucks in LA)... worse case, I will re-schedule but my mechanic is taking a look at my car on Thursday. *crosses fingers*

Mlle XIX- the ad agency is Rubin Postaer and Associates (RPA). I'd be working on the WellPoint account, originally I had applied for the Honda account (since I currently work in the automotive industry)- and haven't heard from them in 2 months, but I received the call yesterday and they really want to meet me. I also have a good reference already from my old roommate who scored me the opportunity since he works for RPA as well.

Sooo yeah, I'm just REALLY nervous. I hate interviews. AHH! Thanks guys!

I am going thru the process myself right now, knocking on a promotion. I should have it locked, though. I am bilingual, and scored best on the written (general) exam; have yet to take the oral and written (Spanish) exams.
