So, after what seems like forever of bucking the trend (and realizing that it'd get me out of the house 10 min. or so quicker in the morning), I fear I might be buying an ipod. I'm thinking of going through the Apple store to get one because:
a) it's the cheapest, and
b) free engraving - 2 lines of 27 characters or less.

However, instead of putting my name on it, I want to either name my ipod or put a non-music-related/tv/movie quote on the back, and was wondering if there were any suggestions out there. Here's what I came up with at (boring) work yesterday:

"With friends like you, / Who needs Friends?" (Rushmore)
"No, we're not homosexuals / but we are willing to learn" (Stripes)
"You've made a cuckold of me. / Many times over." (Tennenbaums)
"Why spend your life making / somone else's dreams?" (Ed Wood)
"When someone asks you if / you're a god, you say yes." (Ghostbusters)
"Baby step to four o'clock. / Baby step to four o'clock." (What About Bob)
"Good. Bad. / I'm the guy with the gun." (Army of Darkness)
"I'm probably the smartest / person I know." (Adaptation)
"You are what you love, / not what loves you." (Adaptation)
"Sad Songs Are / Nature's Onions" (Mr. Show)
"I think only stupid people / have good relationships." (Ghost World)
"No matter how hard life / gets, there is always beer!" (Dirty Work)
"I love God. / He's so deliciously evil." (Family Guy)
"Hell hath no fury like / a woman scorned for Sega." (Mallrats)

This morning's idea, for all the AD fans out there is just putting "STEVE HOLT!" on the back, but I'm a bit unsure. As of right now, I'm leaning towards the Ghostbusters quote, but I'm laughing at the thought of having the Stripes one on there and possiblly changing the "we're" to "I'm" just to see what people make of it. Any other ideas out there?

The best Stripes quote is this one:

"Chicks dig me, cause I rarely wear underwear"

I dunno, I like the whole Tito Puente tirade that comes at the beginning myself, but it's way too long to fit into 54 characters...

Stripes is one of my fav. movies of all time...

Mine has my full name on one line and Diamond Dave on the 2nd line. It was a gift, and it is qual.

Why don't you want it music related? Do your favourite artists write silly lyrics, or what?

Not really - I'd love to throw a good Goats quote on there - it's just that I'd rather have a non-musical quote for the back of it. I'd rather not have my name on the back, but I want something that'll be semi-unique, yet not completely obscure...

think a "hipness/compatability quotient test", but uneletist (though that's fairly impossible"...

I don't wanna be one of those people with "The love you get is / equal to the love you give" or something terrible back there. Also, I want something that'll make me laugh as well. Also, if I put something like "On the last day of your / life, don't forget to die" on the back, I'd want to listen to the silver jews every time I flipped the thing over, which is uncomplementary to the idea of myself buying of an ipod in the first place...

I suggest: "'Have a good time all the time' - Viv Savage."
