Not that I'd necessarily buy any of these, just speculating....

Janet Jackson - Design of a Second Decade (1994-2004)
Beck - Bottles and Cans: The Best of Beck
Massive Attack - Group 14: The Best of Massive Attack (as in 14 songs and they have a song called "Group 4", duh)
Goo Goo Dolls - Brainwashing the Masses: The Radio Hits
Ween - The Elektra Years
Alanis Morrissette - You Oughta Know: The Hits

I'm all for a law which prohibits artist from releasing a greatest hits when they only have 1 album anybody cares about.

from buddyhead.com:

Speaking of shitty metal bands with wiggers in it, the worst offender of all time, Limp Bizkit, is finally dead. Yes, you heard right. The beast has finally been slain. Kinda like when Warrant and Poison tried to keep going in the 90’s after hair metal died, the writing was on the wall when that last record sold a dozen copies and they realized rap-metal was dead. Of course they’re gonna give the dead horse one last punch on their way out the door, and the plan is a “Greatest Hits” album. It gets worse… the album will include a cover of Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” We heard the song sounds like a cross between a down syndrome “Bitter Sweet Symphony” and a wet diarrhea fart.

i assume in the next few years there will be a flood of best of's for rappers.

Ryan Adams and The White Stripes could use one, i don't like their albums but they have great songs.

did you see, i think that it was on cocaineblunts.com, the list of No Limit releases that were multi-platinum and yet out-of-print? that was a really strange concept to get through my head, just how mind-bogglingly huge that fad was.

what about Cash Money? I just read somewhere that Juvenile lost his house down there and I just had this mental image of a giant Pen&Pixelated diamond-studded gold house getting washed out to sea with all these hoochie-mama's straddling Bentleys and shit. and then I realized, "eh, Juvenile probably spent most of that shit in like 4 months. "

still, BABY WANTS MONEY

I didnt get it when it was going on and frankly still dont. No Limit was like the nail in the coffin for about 85% of my passion for hiphop.

I blame Master P.

The Belly best of is one of the few best ofs I actually like. Most of the songs aren't on either of their albums. But yeah, they should have just made it all rarities.

Picked up the Sloan 'best of' earlier this year... a worthy purchase.

Think the Beta Band's 'best of' is released next week.

The biggest joke 'Greatest Hits' I've seen in a while is Fugees. It's real short and like 75% the one that sold. Totally unnecessary release.
