Uhoh...someone make sure Dana is ok with the news.

Quote:
Guitarist Andy Taylor has left Duran Duran, the veteran pop group said on Thursday.

According to a statement on the band's Web site, Taylor quit the group last weekend, though the remaining four members -- Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and John and Roger Taylor -- intend to carry on recording and performing as Duran Duran.

"As of last weekend we have dissolved our partnership and will be continuing as Duran Duran without Andy," said the statement.

"We have reached a point in our relationship with him where there is an unworkable gulf between us and we can no longer effectively function together."

Fronted by Le Bon, Duran Duran was one of the biggest acts of the 1980s, before reforming five years ago.

"Although obviously disappointed and saddened about this, we are excited about the next chapter of the Duran Duran story and look forward to seeing you all soon," the statement added.

The band is scheduled to give a concert in Chicago in the United States later on Thursday.

I, for one, am certainly hoping for a Mott the Hoople cover in the near future.

Yes, he's reforming with the zombie Robert Palmer.

I didn't know this for a fact, but I figured as much... he hasn't been touring with them in Europe, and he's been missing from many of the promo appearances. Eh, can't say I'm sad about it, but part of the charm of the reunion was the fact that all five original guys were back together. Now they're back in 1985... limping along with session musicians while one by one, each original guy is picked off.

Thanks for checking on me, T... I'll be okay.... (sniff, sniff)

Dom Brown will play guitar on the upcoming American shows which are slated to run from October 26 to November 11, 2006. After these dates, the band will return to the studio to continue recording, following their recent collaboration with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.

Need we wonder why Andy finally called it quits? I'm really feeling ambivalent about this Timbaland thing....

Yeh, I'm sure he wouldn't want to be part of any bad music.
