that sucks, sir. On a lighter note, VA is a huge tiny West Palm Beach. Allen is calling for a recount, supposedly.

Sorry to hear about that, Loog, but hey, join the club. It's a helluva ride.

I'm only minorly hungover though.

I feel for you, mang. But you'll wind up OK. The right people are back in the catbird's seat and that can't help but be good for your future.

For now, focus on the nuptials. It'll be alright.

It's Wednesday, which means that the employment situation should be ignored until the start of a fresh work week, i. e., next Monday. This leaves from now until then for continued, sustained alcohol intake, as long as a credit card can mitigate the third issue. Illegitumus Non Carborundum.

My wife quit her job as a state career counselor when it became apparent John Baldacci was going to get reelected governor. His muddledheadness and reliance on empty "processes" has made the department of labor an unholy mess. She got out before the ship sinks, basically, and is pursuing a freelance writing career.

Which means she's doing what she's always wanted to do, but 60% of our income just evaporated.

So, not only have I not bought music recently, I haven't payed stuff like the electric bill.

Her state retirement money should get us through the winter and I can push for a raise, but the writing's going to have to pan out by spring. Or it'll be soup kitchens for Family Spoon.

Our dear Loog is a political fundraiser. His horse lost the race last night, barely, and not due to lack of funds.

Despite the bad publicity, I still thought the people would pick the better man in the end.

Wouldn't you have been out of a job even if he won, or do you do more than campaigning stuff?
