I got mine free. I'm so ashamed.

But I've paid for a gazillion shows.

They were featured on a podcast like yesterday on Stylus. A little part of me smiled, knowing Kevin is in the band...but I have never listened to them

Swwwwweeet. It's getting a lot of good press, etc.

Contra, there is really nothing wrong with listening to the Bon Savants.

I bought it off their website, through awarestore. $10 + $2.50 shipping.

So does it suck or rawk?

I'm feeling it will be the latter.

The Bon Savants have hit Scotland. I saw the album in an indie record shop the other day. Didn't buy it though because I don't have any money.

here's some reviews from a torrent site i dl'd it from...

This is amazing.
I was disappointed
This is definitely not post rock.
Anyone that has Bedhead listed as their 2nd influence deserves a serious listen.
I love these guys. Be sure to buy the album...
good, not great.
pretty terrible actually
not the best album of the year, but very good
this year is among the weakest in recent memory for music. so this album right now is a certainty in the top 20 for me
I'd definitely say it's worth a listen. Thanks for the up.

will prolly buy it.

those 'reviews' probably come from people who d/l about a hundred things a day, listen once, then 'review'.

Truth:

"There have always been political bands, but the Bon Savants speak of an education-worn displacement that lands them firmly post-Clinton and smack in the middle of the reigning Clooneyocracy."
