Hey everyone.
This post is here for 2 reasons: (1) to gauge real interest in writing blurbs and (2) recruit writing volunteers. To make this work, I need at least 10 people willing to write 2 blurbs each.
This is how we do it:
1. By the end of today, you submit an e-mail to me at
kevin at theallstonplan dot com with a list of 5 albums that you would *prefer* to write blurbs about. Obviously, we'd much rather have someone who actually likes the Arcade Fire writing about
Funeral than me.
2. I'll put together a spreadsheet here at work containing albums and start putting writer names with potential top 20 albums.
3. Once Shmoo finishes tabulating the results of the poll, he will supply me with an alphabetical list of the top 20. To insure secrecy, the transfer medium will of course be a secure,
I.M.F. DVD player, which will self destruct faster than the
Arcade Fire's hype.
4. From that list, I will send out blurb assignments to all who have volunteered. Since we'd like to see this happen quickly, I'll give you a max of 48 hours.
5. If I'm feeling talented, I'll pull together an html presentation of the blurbs and results, with album photos, etc. Or Chase or Haq will volunteer to do this.
So, again, shoot me an e-mail with five 2004 albums you would want to review. If out of those individual lists, your choices are not actually reflect in the final top 20, I will assign based on where you have ranked albums in your individual top 20 lists. I don't foresee that being a problem though.
Caveat: If I don't receive any e-mails, I'll assume that's sufficient info that this idea is best left to boards like hipinion.
