The one directed by Alejandro González Inárritu who also did the very good and underappreciated 21 Grams. Basically its about miscommunication and the random events that are generated that link people together through their actions. Anyone see this one yet? It stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett and is apparently the end of a trilogy.

Actually, I had a bunch of questions about it that I didn't understand but don't want to be a spoiler for those going to see it. So...

* SPOILER ALERT*

Does anyone know what was written on the piece of paper the Japanese girl wrote on and gave to the detective at the end? Why did she say her mother jumped off the balcony? Also, that ending scene between her and her father..WTF? How did they come to any kind of healing point btween them? The movie wasn't clear about that at all. Lots of uneeded nudity in this film too which was especially disturbing since the girl was supposed to be underage.

Also I felt that the sum total of the film was very anti-American. Did anyone else feel that too? The parts of the movie were definitely better than the whole overall.

THOUGHTS ON SPOILER QUESTIONS (in white)

i think she said her mother jumped off the balcony because she herself was going to jump off the balcony. i also think she killed her mother. i don't know what the note said, but i figured it must've been some type of confession.

i think this was inárritu's weakest yet. it definitely had some interesting parts, but i wasn't thrilled with it in the end.

Babel's like an international Crash. I felt like it was supposed to make us feel bad for being Americans.

21 Grams made me want to kill myself.

I've been mildly interested in seeing this but I think I'm suffering from Brangelina overkill and anything they're involved in. (I know Jolie isn't in this)

I'll probably see it sometime though. I'm just stoked that Pedro Almodovar's "Volver" is coming to my local theater.

Well, I was trying to find something with some artistic merit but, "The Santa Clause 3, Escape Clause" and "Happy Feet" just weren't cutting it.

Huh? Tim Allen is sooo jail, I would have thought that you & the rest of the boys would have to see a film with him in it.

Well his dad literally is (in) jail. And Tim's seen his dark, dark days* and come out the other side with a big ass grin on his face, so yeah, he's jail in that sense.

*and I don't mean that Amish comedy with Kirstie Alley
